EVERYTHING'S COOL(D) / HUNKYDORY

November is sneaking up on us (already!) and usually this time of the year would call for chunky, cover-up-in-woolen-knitwear-posts, but not this year it seems.. As London as well as the rest of the Northern hemisphere seems to still unnervingly hit the 20 mark on the thermometer, wool at this point is synonymous with very, very sticky when rushing from A to B.. (dammit!) and just as I was looking forward to sharing with you one of my favorite Scandi-brands, whose knitwear especially, form the spine of their concept: HUNKYDORY STOCKHOLM

It's highly likely you've already heard of it, that being both the brand and the saying 'Hunkydory'; a phrase coined by David Bowie back in the 70s, which in 1996 became Ulrika & Christopher Bjercke's brand trademark. Both being graduates from Esmod in Paris, the couple early on started to cultivate what would later become one of the most recognizable Swedish fashion brands to this date.

Boho-chic and rock-chic are words often used when described by the fashion world; A mix of feminine, young and sporty paired up with their distinct military influences. And with the phrase hunkydory ('everything is cool and relaxed') always present in their designs, the result is effortlessly chic, contemporary and edgy yet soft and delicate.

Their current AW14 collection is showcasing a wide range of awe-inspiring pieces influenced by the 70s and 80s including just about the most perfect leather biker jacket my pupils have ever expanded on(!)
